Over the next few days, Facebook will roll out a “Sort” option at the top of the news feed that lets users select to see Recent Stories First instead of the default Highlighted Stories. The new feature should appease users miffed by Facebook’s move to combine the old Most Recent and Top Stories news feed tabs into a single stream. Until now, the hybrid news feed launched in September forced users to first see what Facebook considered the most relevant content

Facebook is rolling out an update to the News Feed over the next couple of weeks that will allow users to view their Most Recent stories at the top of the feed, as opposed to the default Highlighted stories that current appear in that spot. Detailed on Facebook’s developer blog , the change seems to come as something of an adjustment to Facebook’s original goal to automatically filter the News Feed to show a user what’s most important

First, let me apologize for the headline. And now, the news. It appears that Mac OS X Lion isn’t exactly taking the Mac world by storm: after brisk initial sales following the July 20 release of 10.7, growth seems to have stagnated.

According to Barnes & Noble, the Nook Touch 1.1 update should improve your reading life by allowing for nearly a month of battery life and faster page turns. Although we haven’t tested the battery claims, I did get the chance to put them side by side to see what these time savings really looked like

Short version: An attractive and comfortable phone with a great screen and solid camera. Not in fact a major update to the original Atrix, but it’s nice, despite some uncalled-for visual effects.

Those of you crazy brave enough to venture into Staples on Black Friday will be rewarded with the chance to buy a 16 GB BlackBerry PlayBook for $199, if their leaked ad is any indication. According to Electronista , the deal only applies in-store, so those of you looking to snag a PlayBook on the cheap had better bundle up. This isn’t the first time Staples has slashed prices on the PlayBook — they ran a special $ 100 off promotion back in September — and it almost certainly won’t be the last.

For people who want to syndicate published work to Facebook, the company has for years offered a Notes application that included a feature to automatically import RSS feeds from other sites. But now the company is telling users that it is removing the auto-posting feature on November 22nd, and directing them to instead to “post links on your Wall.” Third-party syndication app providers, like NetworkedBlogs, Hootsuite and Tweetdeck remain as options for syndicating content automatically to Facebook.
