Just a year after selling his mobile-social gaming network OpenFeint to GREE for $104 million , Jason Citron is at it again. He’s starting a new company called Phoenix Guild and has pocketed $1.1 million from YouWeb, Accel Partners, and General Catalyst Partners. The goal is to be the “Blizzard of the post-PC era.” After months of playing video games and traveling, he decided to have another go at it.

HTML5 game engine Playcraft Labs officially launched today. The engine had been in a soft, beta launch since May. Founder and CEO Martin Wells , who started his first game company when he was 16, describes Playcraft as a toolbox for game designers, especially ones who want to accelerate how fast they develop a game.

Considering the sheer amount of data people produce every day, there’s really no such thing as having too much storage space. Users of cloud storage service Dropbox seem to agree, which is why the company revealed that it would be significantly bumping up the amount of storage space available to its paying users at no extra cost.

Marketing hardware and software corporation Oracle today announced an agreement to acquire social marketing platform company Involver for an unknown sum. The acquisition shows Oracle’s bullishness on social media marketing and sales. At the end of May , the company announced it would buy social management platform Vitrue. With Involver, Oracle gains a strong technology-focused team and platform, but it still lacks a social advertising component

Say Media (the blog and advertising network that owns ReadWriteWeb, XOJane, Dogster, and others) is announcing some big executive changes today. President Troy Young is stepping down from a full-time role, and he’s being replaced by Kim Kelleher, who was previously worldwide publisher for Time.
