Social marketing and promotions software company Votigo recently expanded its platform to provide a full cross-network publisher, conversation manager and analytics tools. Votigo co-founder and CEO Mike La Rotonda tells us it has long been part of the company’s vision to offer these additional services, but it had been previously focused on building out its promotional app suite. Votigo, began as a video-focused UGC community site in 2006, but after the launch of the Facebook platform, found success providing technology to help companies run online promotions.

Nodejitsu announced a long awaited public beta for its Node.js platform cloud service this week. The service can be run from private or public clouds, including Amazon Web Services, Joyent and Rackspace.

Popular car service Uber is delivering ice cream today only to promote their newly diversified private rides. Last week, Uber expanded its fleet from Lincoln Town Cars to SUVs and hybrids in an additional service called “Uber X.” To market the change, Uber is offering on-demand ice cream to users, ordered and paid for through their app, in Boston, Chicago, New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, and Washington D.C

Facebook has begun rotating ads in the right sidebar if users remain on the same page for a while. “We recently made a change to some pages that show ads on Facebook that allows ads to be replaced with others after an extended period of time,” a Facebook spokesperson told ClickZ , which first reported the story

Competition in the tablet space has been heating up for a while now, and it’s not just the big guys that are feeling the strain.
