FoundersCard

FoundersCard, the membership program bringing executive-style perks to entrepreneurs, is rolling out a few more perks today to add to its growing lineup. The company currently offers discounts on a number of products and services, including things like elite status on airlines (5% off Virgin America, 10% off Virgin Atlantic, 10% off Lufthansa, and 5-22% off Cathay), discounts with Apple, AT&T (10%), UPS (up to 32%) StubHub, TaskRabbit, and hotels, to name a few.

The company, which celebrated its second birthday in January, was created by serial entrepreneur Eric Kuhn, who wanted company founders have access to the same kinds of exclusive rates, elite programs and networking opportunities that have always been reserved for top execs at public companies. Along with the new perks being added today, FoundersCard is also announcing having hit 7,500 members as of this week.

Here are the perks which just now arrived:

  • 25% at Bonobos (men’s clothing e-tailer) and exclusive personal shopping hours.
  • $200 off your first order of $500 at Mr. Porter, and VIP access including a personal shopper and early access to new items.

  • Elite status with Cathay Pacific and Lufthansa
  • 50% off of Retrofit‘s weightloss programs

Klout In The Airport: A High Score Gets You Into Cathay Pacific’s SFO Lounge

Last month, Klout launched its iPhone app. Today, it’s announcing its first big mobile partnership, one that should make app pretty appealing to any air travelers in San Francisco.

So Klout is launching a Perk with Hong Kong-headquartered Cathay Pacific Airways. Anyone in the international terminal at San Francisco International Airport with a Klout score of 40 or higher will be allowed into the airline’s lounge, which is normally limited to Cathay’s first class and business class passengers. Just use the app to show your score the lounge receptionist and you’ll get access to seven workstations, three showers, and a noodle bar.

The promotion, which starts today and runs through July, is another sign that whatever the haters say, companies are interested in exploring Klout as a marketing opportunity. That Cathay Pacific is willing to open its doors to Klout users seems like a real commitment, albeit one that’s limited to SFO, rather than all of its airports.

So if you’re scared of a future where people are flashing their Klout scores to get special access, well, that future is getting closer.
